Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data the Blearnix app and the website blearnix.com process, why, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

The controller of your personal data is Evgeny Smirnov, Valencia, Spain. Contact: info@blearnix.com.

Using the app without an account

You can read books without creating an account. Your library, reading progress, saved words, notes, bookmarks, goals and statistics are then stored only on your device. Reminders are scheduled on your device; read-aloud uses your device's own voice.

To show a book's catalog and download it, the app asks our servers, which see your IP address and the books requested. When you ask the app to translate and explain a sentence, it sends which book and which sentence you chose; the text is that of the book, not anything you wrote.

Your account

If you create an account, we process:

The legal basis is the contract with you: these data are needed to provide the account, its features and your subscription.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist on blearnix.com, we store your name, your e-mail address, the language you want to learn, your native language, the page you signed up on, the text of the consent you gave and when you gave it. A second sign-up with the same address replaces the earlier details.

We use these data only to tell you when the app launches and to know which languages people are waiting for. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. When we send the launch e-mail, an e-mail delivery service may process your name and address on our behalf, and the first message lets you confirm or unsubscribe.

We keep your entry until the launch mailing has been sent, and at most 24 months, or until you ask us to remove it: write to info@blearnix.com from the address you signed up with. To limit abuse, sign-ups from each IP address are counted for one hour; the counter is deleted automatically shortly after.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and paid through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your card. We receive the purchase receipt from the store and ask the store whether it is valid and until when it is paid.

Language features

Translations, quizzes and explanations are produced by AI models that run in Amazon Bedrock on our behalf. They receive only the text of the book and the words or sentence concerned, never your e-mail or account. Answers are kept and reused for other readers of the same book.

Feedback you send from the app (your message, your e-mail address and its context: app version, device system, languages, plan and the book and screen you were on) is stored with your account, and the message and context, without your e-mail, are analysed with an AI model in Amazon Bedrock to triage them; they are deleted with your account.

Once a day, if you are signed in and have studied since, and also whenever we ask for it, for example while helping you, your study data is analysed by an AI model in Amazon Bedrock, on our behalf, to describe what you do well and where you struggle and to suggest grammar, books, articles and words to study next. The model receives your study data and the titles of what the app offers, never your e-mail. The result is stored with your account, and deleted with it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used: which screens are opened, events such as opening a book, finishing a quiz or reaching a daily goal, the device model, operating system, app version and approximate country. If you are signed in, the events are linked to your account's random identifier, never to your e-mail. Nothing you read or write (words, sentences, notes, book titles) is sent.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is used only after you consent in the dialog shown when the app starts; without consent Firebase receives only anonymous signals that cannot identify your device. You can change your choice at any time in the app's settings.

Advertising

The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and IP address to show, measure and, if you consent, personalise ads. Where the law requires it, Google's consent dialog asks you first; the legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The paid plan shows no ads. See how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

Where data is stored

Our servers run on Amazon Web Services in the United States. Google processes analytics and advertising data, also outside the EU. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

Deleting your account

You can delete your account in the app, under Settings → Account → Delete account: the account and everything stored with it are deleted at once. Without the app, write to info@blearnix.com from the address of your account and we delete them within 30 days. Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription, which you cancel in Google Play or the App Store. Data on your device is removed when you uninstall the app. See how to delete your account for what is deleted and what is kept.

Your rights

You may ask for access to your data, its correction, deletion or transfer, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw any consent you gave. Write to info@blearnix.com. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, in Spain the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.

Children

The app is not intended for children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will publish any change to this policy on this page with a new date, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
